Apply to Be a Cobb Police Officer

Cobb County Government is accepting applications for its police officer positions.

The Cobb County Police Department is seeking candidates for its police officer positions. Currently certified officers, as well as candidates with no previous law enforcement experience, are welcome to apply.

Successful candidates will patrol the county and respond to calls for service, investigate crimes and render assistance to residents as necessary.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age;
  • Have a high school diploma or GED;
  • Must be a United States citizen and have an honorable discharge if they served in the military;
  • Pass a physical fitness test, pre-placement medical examination, drug screening, polygraph test, oral interviews and a comprehensive background investigation;
  • Be willing to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Pay and benefits include:

  • Starting annual salary of $38,355;
  • Benefits package includes health, dental and life insurance, retirement plan, Long Term Disability, Flexible Spending Accounts Program and paid leave and holidays.
