City Council Looks to Adjust 2013 Budget

A budget amendment will look to ensure the fiscal year budget is consistent with what was actually spent and received.

The Smyrna City Council will look to close the book on the fiscal year 2013 budget during their meeting Monday evening.

According to Community Relations Director Jennifer Bennett, the budget amendment listed on the agenda for the meeting is meant to ensure that the city's budget accurately reflects the money received and spent during the previous fiscal year.

Bennett also told Patch that the agenda item that would have seen the council possibly lend its support to a $13 million land purchase will likely be tabled for Monday's meeting.

The land involved in the purchase is 47.52 acres in the rough boundaries of Windy Hill Road to Hickory Acres Drive Southeast (north-south) and Old Concord Road to Timberly Drive Southeast (east-west).

If you are unable to attend the 7:30 meeting in person. Smyrna-Vinings Patch will carry a live stream hosted by the City of Smyrna which will include an interactive agenda.
