Deal Names Smyrna Woman to Board

Georgia governor appoints Amy Gatch to the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Last Friday Gov. Nathan Deal announced the appointment of Smyrna’s Amy Gatch to the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Gatch, her husband Zach and their young son Noah live in Ward 6.

She is employed as a preschool speech-language diagnostician with the Fulton County school system after having previously worked with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

A member of the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Junior League of Atlanta, Gatch also serves on the administrative board of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Buckhead.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a master’s degree from Florida State University.
