Stoner, Hill Face Off in Tight Race

Longtime Georgia Senate Democrat Doug Stoner competes against Republican newcomer Hunter Hill for the District 6 State Senate seat in Tuesday's election.

The State Senate District 6 race between incumbent Senator Doug Stoner (D-Smyrna) and Republican newcomer Hunter Hill is expected to be a tight one in Tuesday's election.

The Senate disctrict was redrawn last year, and now stretches from Smyrna-Vinings through Sandy Springs into Buckhead. Republicans make up 55 percent of the current district.

Stoner, a Kennesaw State graduate and a longtime Senate Democrat first elected in 2002, has been a favorite among prominent business leaders in Metro Atlanta.
