Jonquil Village Modifications on Planning and Zoning Agenda

The amended site plan should reflect the results of studies performed to determine the best spots for parking and retail space.

After a one month delay, Branch Capital Partners will present their amended site plan for the Jonquil Village site to the Smyrna Planning and Zoning Board on Monday, Nov. 11.

The modifications were originally scheduled to go before the board on Oct. 14, but the item was tabled until Nov. 11 because of a mutual agreement between the city and the developers to allow the developers to refine their proposal.

Jack Haylett, Director of Development with Branch Capital, told Patch in October that his firm needed more time to receive completed studies on optimal locations for parking and retail facilities.

Should the Planning and Zoning Board sign off on the changes, they will be brought before the Smyrna City Council during their Nov. 17 meeting for final approval.

The Planning and Zoning Board will also rule on the following petitions:

  • Wilson Built Homes LLC wants to rezone .43 acres of land at 2679 Hughes St. from R-15 to RAD-Conditional (moderate density residential to medium density residential).
  • The McLinden Group LLC wants to rezone .0365 acres of land at 1041 McLinden Ave. from R-15 to RAD-Conditional (moderate density residential to medium density residential).

The Planning and Zoning Board will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, Smyrna-Vinings Patch will link to a live stream of the proceedings provided by the City of Smyrna.
