Mayor Bacon to the Jonquil City: 'Thank You!'

Smyrna mayor expresses his gratitude to city residents and workers for pulling together in a "spirit of cooperation and collaboration" during this week's Winter Storm Leon.

From the City of Smyrna Facebook page:

A Special Message to Smyrna Citizens, Businesses and Employees:

Thank you! Who can say that to you enough? We cannot tell you how proud we are of the outpouring of support displayed by citizens and businesses of Smyrna during the events of this week. Your willingness to help each other and help us by assisting in providing support for opening the Community Center to stranded motorist and following requests and directions that allowed Public Safety and Public Works crews to work as effectively and efficiently as possible to get life back to normal made all the difference in the world. We know that many of you hosted travelers in your homes and businesses – or provided support to those who did - and did so without hesitation. We are grateful for the work and efforts of our City employees and the outstanding job that they performed during a terrible situation that developed rapidly and presented new challenges. The spirit of cooperation and collaboration you and staff displayed sets an example and defines Smyrna as a caring community; a compassionate and resourceful community. – Mayor A. Max Bacon on behalf of Mayor and Council, City of Smyrna, GA
