Smyrna Council Postpones Smoking Ban Vote Until April

Council tables vote on banning smoking in city parks until next month.

The Smyrna City Council tabled a vote on a proposed smoking ban in city parks during its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday night.

Councilwoman Teri Anulewicz proposed the amendment to the City of Smyrna's Code of Ordinance Chapter 46 entitled Environment to include Section 46-8, which would prohibit smoking within all City owned facilities and parks properties.

There was virtually no discussion of the amendment among councilmembers, but after Anulewicz made a motion for council to vote on it, Councilman Ron Fennel made a motion to table the vote until April.
