There’s a lot on the agenda for Smyrna-Vinings this week, so let’s dive right into our look at the week ahead.
Smyrna City Council meets Monday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. The agenda looks light and includes a public hearing for a modification of the site plan and zoning conditions for Vintage Square Subdivision and the reappointment of Downtown Development Authority members.
Council will also vote whether to approve the use of $340,086 of Community Development Block Grant Funds between the city of Smyrna and Cobb County. The complete agenda can be viewed at the city of Smyrna website.

Before the meeting, outstanding Smyrna students will be recognized at the Mayor's Education Awards. The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. and will also be broadcast on Channel 19.

You’ve got two chances to hear from state Rep. Rich Golick this week. He’s scheduled to speak at Smyrna Rotary Club Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at Brawner Hall.
Golick will join his colleagues state Rep. Stacey Evans and state Sen. Doug Stoner for a Cobb Chamber Smyrna Area Council meeting Thursday, May 10 at 7:45 a.m. at the Smyrna Community Center. Golick, Evans and Stoner will present a wrap-up of the legislative session.
