The Week Ahead in Smyrna-Vinings

See what's up in the week ahead including a City Council meeting and a meeting for a new private school in South Cobb.

It's quiet for the week of Fourth of July in Smyrna-Vinings. Here’s a look at what’s coming up in the week ahead.

Monday

Smyrna Academy of Excellence may have been denied a charter at last Thursday’s Cobb County Board of Education meeting, but that won’t stop its supporters from opening a school. Board members plan to open as a private K-12 school and will hold an informational meeting Monday at 6 p.m. at Taylor Brawner Park in Smyrna.

Smyrna City Council meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. There’s a light agenda on tap and you can watch the meeting live on TV19, the Cobb County government access channel.
