TSPLOST Town Hall in Smyrna Tuesday

Undecided voters will hear arguments both for and against the Regional Transportation Referendum at a town hall meeting Tuesday at Smyrna City Hall.

Smyrna residents who are still undecided about how they’ll vote on the July 31 Regional Transportation Referendum can learn more at the Transportation Investment Act Referendum town hall meeting at Smyrna City Hall Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

On July 31 voters will go to the polls to decide whether to impose a one-percent sales tax for 10 years to fund a list of 157 transportation improvement projects throughout the 10-county metro region.

John Bachman, Smyrna resident and WSB-TV news anchor, will moderate the forum. Michael Paris, who represents the Metro Atlanta Voter Education Network, will present the referendum facts. Former Sen. Chuck Clay of Brock Clay Citizens for Transportation Mobility will argue in favor of the referendum and Bob Ross, representative from the Transportation Leadership Coalition will argue against it.

Citizens attending the meeting can pose questions to Clay and Ross by writing them on index cards. The forum will be televised on Charter TV Channel 23.
