Obama to Deliver State of the Union Address

Do you think the president’s address will be a unifying one that will help move the country forward?

Advanced information from the various news organizations indicates that President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address today will be different to his inaugural address last month.

According to ABC News, it is expected to focus primarily on jobs and the economy and will outline new initiatives. He is, however, expected to touch on immigration, gun violence and climate change.

ABC News reports that new initiatives will call for more spending to get the economy moving, but the spending is expected to be modest and will likely be offset by spending cuts in other areas.

What are you looking for in the president’s speech and what do you think he could say to help unify the country?

Government spending and divisive politics will never help our country "move forward". We need someone as Prez. who knows what it is like to be an underdog! Dr. Ben Carson 2016!!!

Hmmmm....if growing up as a mixed race, African American, with a single struggling mom, and a Muslim & African name---working hard and excelling to go through law school and then serving his community upon graduation, and saving this country from a depression, isn't the story of an underdog becoming successful--then what is. And now he is faulted for not forgetting where he came from and those who are still there, trying to give them a hand up, rather than a hand out.
