Cobb Families Submit Record-High School Choice Applications

Parents will be notified via telephone or e-mail prior to spring holidays.

In a statement from the Cobb County School District, Cobb families submitted more than 2,500 applications for School Choice (HB 251 and SB10) transfers during the application window Feb. 10-28.

That marks as a record high for the district, which streamlined the application process for 2014-2015 and helped schools share the opportunity with parents and students.

A lottery will be conducted for any school with more applications than available space.

Parents will be notified via telephone or e-mail prior to spring holidays.

School choice transfer students must pre-enroll at the school byΒ May 1, 2014Β (high school students must have an appointment or be registered by the deadline).

Charter schools and new schools are exempt from School Choice.
