Cobb, Smyrna Schools Closed Tuesday Due to Cold Weather
Employees are to report to work by 10 a.m.
UPDATE (3:40 p.m.): The International Academy of Smyrna has joined the Cobb County School District by announcing that no classes will be held on Tuesday due to inclement weather.
Staff is expected to report at 10 a.m.
ORIGINAL STORY (12:27 p.m.): The Cobb County School District has announced that there will be no classes on Tuesday due to the extreme cold weather sweeping through the metro Atlanta area.
In the announcement, which was made shortly before noon, school district teachers and staff will have a delayed arrival time of 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday was to be the first day of classes in the new winter semester in Cobb.
Marietta City Schools were to have returned to classes Monday but those have been cancelled. No decision has been announced yet about Tuesday classes.
