Deadline Approaching to Donate to Nickajack Library

The elementary school needs your help to update its non-fiction catalog.

There are only two days remaining for you to participate in a local elementary school's media center funding drive.

Nickajack Elementary School's "Funds 4 Books" program is designed to help the media center stock up on newer non-fiction titles to be compliant with the new Common Core curriculum and to encourage little minds to grow.

According to information provided by the school, 70 percent of the library's stock of non-fiction books is outdated. That's nearly 4,000 titles that need to be replaced.

Nickajack would like to raise $5,000 for its library, but with only two days left to donate the school has only managed $1,570 in donations.

You can make a tax-deductible donation to the Funds 4 Books program by following this link. The minimum donation is $10, but $20 will allow the school to buy a new book ready to be used by students and teachers. 100 percent of every donation will go directly to the media center and the book drive.

The deadline to make a donation is Jan. 17.
