January is Thyroid Awareness Month. The thyroid gland may be little, but it's important! The function of the thyroid is to regulate the speed of your body's metabolism, converting the food we eat into energy. If the gland is not working properly, you may experience weight gain (or loss), fatigue, depression, skin conditions, high cholesterol, hair loss and more.
