Lovett Helping Design the Future of School Libraries
A look around at what's happening at local schools this week.
Monday, Sept. 19 is a faculty in-service day for The Lovett School's middle school students. There will be no class for middle school students.
The Lovett School’s lower school students have a new report card this year. Parents can come to an informative session to learn about the changes. There are two sessions Monday, Sept. 19 in the Hendrix-Chenault Theater, one at 8:30 a.m. and on at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, Sept. 22, fifth graders will leave for their overnight field trip to Mentone, Ala. Sixth graders will also be taking an overnight field trip to Chattanooga, Tenn.

Lovett is also hosting the Reimagine: Ed National Summit and Experiential Workshop Friday, Sept. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 25. This summit focuses on exploring the changing role of the library and its potential for learning and community engagement. The summit meets Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information contact Laura Deisley at ldeisley@lovett.org or 404-262-3032 ext. 1348.

Also Wednesday is the Griffin Middle School PTSA Spirit Night at . Some of the evenings proceeds will be donated back to the school, but be sure to tell the server.
's School Council meets Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the media center.
The Foundation fundraising campaign continues this week.
The Smyrna Academy of Excellence continues to host informational meetings around the city. The next neighborhood meeting is set for Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Vinings Pointe clubhouse at 6 p.m.
