New Smyrna Elementary School Moving Right Along

Construction continues on the new Smyrna elementary school.

Smyrna-Vinings Patch asked the Cobb County School District for a progress report for . Here's what SPLOST Executive Director Glen Brown had to say:

"The new Smyrna elementary school is currently on schedule and it is projected to complete in March, 2013.Β The first floor of the Northwest and Northeast Wings is approximately 60% complete and the second floor is ready for Interior CMU Partitions and door frames to begin.

The Structural Steel for the Entire Building is approximately 55% complete with the Tall Single Story Common Space set to begin towards the end of this month.Β Site Retaining Wall Construction is near 60% complete and underground utility work is near 60% complete."
