School Choice Transfer Window Opens Next Month

Applications for transfers will not be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parents who would like to send their children to a different school within the Cobb County School District (CCSD) can begin the transfer process in three weeks.

The CCSD's 2014-15 School Choice program will accept applications for transfers starting on Monday, Feb. 10. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.

Applications can be mailed, hand delivered, or faxed to the school district's Glover Street offices. The fax number is 678-594-8557.

A full list of schools accepting transfer students will be available on Monday, Feb. 3.

Applications will not be on a first-come, first-served basis; if a particular school has more applicants than available seats, a lottery will be held to determine placement.

If a child is accepted to a transfer school, the deadline to pre-enroll at the new school is May 1. Parents are solely responsible for getting children to and from transfer schools in a timely manner.
