Here's a roundup of the school news you need for the coming week plus items you might have missed.

Cobb Board of Education meets for its monthly work session Wednesday, Sept. 12. Public comment begins at 8:30 a.m. The meeting is held at the central office located at 514 Glover Street in Marietta. 

The Cobb Marietta Retired Educators meet Thursday, Sept. 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Freeman Poole Multipurpose Center. This month’s speaker is John Adams, executive director of Educator’s First.  Lunch catered by Mother’s Finest is $10. To reserve a spot email Debby Overstreet at debbybob@comcast.net.

Sparkles Skate Night begins at 6 p.m. Thursday. Discounted admission benefits Argyle Elementary School. The $4.50 includes admission, skate rental and play area. 

juniors and seniors interested in attending the State Farm College Fair must fill out a registration form from the school counseling office. More than 50 college representatives will attend the fair hosted by 100 Black Men of Atlanta Inc. is Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center.
