Vinings Students Participate in Lovett's Walk-to-School Day

Participation boosts from last year and carpooling showed a big jump, too.

first walk-to-school/carpool day of the school year showed a strong increase in participants.

A total of 376 students, including many from the Vinings area, walked, biked or skated to school on Sept. 9, according to a news release from the school. Carpooling showed a big jump, with 671 participating.

In the in April, 305 students walked, biked, rode scooters, roller bladed and even floated on the Chattahoochee River to school. In addition, 436 students carpooled.

The school will have walk to school/carpool days this year on Friday, Nov. 11, Friday, Feb. 10, and Friday, April 13.
