Whitefield Academy Dedicates Founders Hall

The first academic building erected on the school's Smyrna campus is now named after the people who made Whitefield Academy possible.

A Smyrna-based Christian preparatory school recently dedicated one of the first buildings on its campus to honor the founders of the school.

In 1996, Whitefield Academy was founded through a joint effort of The Cranmer School and Mount Vernon Christian Academy. On Oct. 25, 2013, the first building constructed on the school's Smyrna campus was named Founders Hall.

“Founders Hall serves as a daily reminder and testimony to the living and active Jesus,” said Whitefield’s headmaster, Dr. Kevin Bracher in a release.

“As the founders followed Him while making Whitefield Academy a reality, they demonstrated courage, generosity, and faithfulness.”

Bracher was joined by the school's first-ever headmaster Chuck Johnson and inaugural board chair David Jones to dedicate the band room inside Founders Hall to arts director Stacy Quiros.

The building now known as Founders Hall was opened in 2002 and now serves as Whitefield Academy's middle school. It was the first building on the campus constructed for academic use.
