Downhill Run for a Good Cause

Saturday's Vinings Downhill 5K Run for the Kids brought out an estimated 700 runners.

It was picture-perfect weather on Saturday morning for what is billed as the fastest 5K in Atlanta. The Vinings Downhill 5K Run for the Kids was staged for the 13th time and an estimated 700 runners tackled the 330-foot drop course.

The race is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Vinings with help from The Vinings Club and Vinings Jubilee.

It benefitted Calvary Children's Home, The Good Samaritan Health Center and the Vinings Rotary Charity Fund.

This race began at the top of Mt. Wilkerson in Vinings, then took runners around the Cumberland Mall area before ending at the Chattahoochee River Park.
