'Dig Into Reading' at Smyrna Library

Summer reading programs have kicked off at the Smyrna Public Library.

Smyrna Public Library kicked off its 2013 Summer Reading programs over the weekend, and it is now time to "Dig Into Reading"!

Summer reading incentive programs for all ages are available at the library this year, with a new theme—"Dig Into Reading". Activities include a visit from Peter Rabbit, a treasure hunt, and a "Bug Squad" party.

Children aged 10 and younger can enjoy story times, special events, and prizes for reading at the library.

For teen and tween readers, there are special programs every Tuesday such as a Steampunk Art project and T-shirt Reconstruction project. Jackson Pearce, author of Fathomless and Sisters Red, will also make an appearance to meet the young readers. The grand prize in the incentive drawing for teens is a 7" Google Nexus tablet.

In addition, Smyrna Public Library will offer an Adult Summer Reading program for the first time for grown-ups to enjoy a summer with author visits, lectures, book discussions, and a chance to win a Google Nexus tablet.
