Food Truck Craze Hits Smyrna Times Two

Smyrna gets hip to the food truck trend.

The food truck craze hits Smyrna times two later this month. City officials announced that the first Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday event will be July 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Taylor Brawner Park. There’s also word that will serve breakfast at the for the remainder of the season. 

The first Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday event should include about half a dozen food trucks with sweet and savory offerings.

“We did need time to get it organized and get some of the trucks on board,” said Smyrna’s Community Relations Director Jennifer Bennett. “The organizer is still working on it.”

Bennett added that a portion of the proceeds from Smyrna Truck Tuesdays will benefit the Smyrna Education Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit aimed at promoting the city’s public schools.

Those attending Smyrna Food Truck Tuesdays are encourage to walk to Taylor Brawner Park if they’re able because parking will be limited.

Speaking of food trucks, Happy Belly Food Truck, Smyrna’s hometown food truck, will now serve breakfast at Smyrna’s Fresh Produce Market. The market is held each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the parking lot.
