What's Open on Labor Day in Smyrna-Vinings?

Fire up the grill! It's almost Labor Day weekend. Most city offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 3 in observance of Labor Day with a few exceptions. will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., however the and the will be closed. All city and county government offices will be closed. 

Smyrna City Council normally meets on the first and third Mondays of each month. This month’s first Monday meeting has been rescheduled to the first Tuesday, Sept. 4, because of the holiday.

Trash and recycling pickup are as follows:

  • Monday routes picked up Tuesday.
  • Tuesday routes picked up Wednesday.
  • Thursday and Friday routes unchanged.
  • No yard waste collection during a holiday week.

If you are heading out of town for longer than a week you can have a police officer check your house in your absence. Residence checks are a service offered by both Smyrna and Cobb County police departments. A uniformed officer will check your house daily for signs of a disturbance or intruder.
