The return of summer brings the chance of afternoon pop-up storms this week.
In Smyrna and Vinings, partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies will hang around all week, with a 30 to 40 percent chance of thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Highs will generally be in the high 80s.
On Monday scattered to numerous thunderstorms across North and Central Georgia were expected with afternoon heating and increased instability in the atmosphere.
