On Saturday, July 14, local civic organizations, churches, and residents came together for a community service day at in Smyrna. Sponsored by SuperSmyrna and the Teasley PTA, the service day saw the completion of a number of renovation projects at the school, including the repainting of the cafeteria and several restrooms. More than 30 volunteers participated, including members of the Smyrna Rotary Club, the East Cobb Lions Club, the Village Church at Vinings, Life Church Smyrna, and the Teasley PTA.
Thanking the volunteers, Principal Leslie Mansfield said, “I am so grateful for the support of our teachers, parents, students, and especially community volunteers. A little help goes a long way.” Narayan Sengupta, co-founder of SuperSmyrna and a past president of the Smyrna Rotary Club, noted that “it is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to help the school, which in turn helps our community as a whole to shine even brighter.” Pastor Curt Benham of the Village Church at Vinings added, “As a part of the Teasley community, it is a pleasure to serve a school that means so much to us.”
Additional service days at the school are planned throughout the coming year, according to PTA president Angela Blackwell. For more details about upcoming service days, contact the PTA at firstname.lastname@example.org.
