Teasley Elementary Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Teasley Elementary School will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special event on Sunday, October 13 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., featuring tours of the campus, musical performances by the Treble Tones chorus and the Teasley first-graders, displays of nostalgic Teasley memorabilia, and refreshments. This special event will be held at the Teasley Elementary campus on Spring Hill Road in Smyrna. Current and former students and staff are welcome to attend and join the celebration. Β

Named for longtime Cobb County educator Roy A. Teasley, the school opened in September 1963. It now has more than 700 students and 100 staff. Over the next two years, the school will undergo a $13 million expansion, including the addition of 20 classrooms, the renovation and expansion of the cafeteria, and the construction of a new gymnasium. To accommodate this project, some Teasley students have been temporarily relocated to a second campus, located on the site of the former Brown Elementary School in Smyrna, now known as Teasley Primary School.
