Smyrna Auction for Heroes Gala Set For Tonight

The Gala is a community-wide, volunteer effort by area residents and businesses to help our heroes with a fundraiser benefiting the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation.

What are your plans Saturday night? Come remember and honor Smyrna’s Fire and Police “Heroes” at the Smyrna Auction for Heroes Gala, Saturday, September 10th at historic Brawner Hall on Atlanta Road. As the 10th anniversary of 9/11 nears, it is a fitting time for the Smyrna community to set aside one evening to support the firefighters and police officers who protect and serve our community 24/7, 365 days a year. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate our heroes in a fun-filled and festive Gala sure to become one of Smyrna’s premier events each year.

Get your tickets now at www.SmyrnaHeroesGala.com and use the codes CHARTER or DAVE for discounts up to 50 percent off.

The Gala is a community-wide, volunteer effort by area residents and businesses to help our heroes with a fundraiser benefiting the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation (SPSF, www.smyrnapsf.org).  Supporting the SPSF at the Gala just makes sense. Why? Helping the SPSF translates to helping all of Smyrna’s residents, businesses, and visitors. The SPSF is a 501(c) non-profit organization that promotes and serves both City of Smyrna public safety employees and the community. It is committed to providing the community safety and outreach programs, public safety improvements, disaster support, equipment, recruitment and training, and other much-needed services to make Smyrna a safer and even more enjoyable place to live, work, play, and visit.

Mingle with Smyrna’s fire and police heroes, local businesses and residents, city officials, and Honorary Chair, Mayor A Max Bacon. Eat and enjoy delicious food.  Sip on wine, beer, and fun-themed specialty cocktails.  Bid on live and silent auction goods and services from area businesses and residents. It is not too early to think of holiday gift-giving while bidding on such fabulous auction items as jewelry; exotic trips and weekend getaways; fine and decorative art; health, beauty, and fitness services; theatre tickets; golf outings and lessons; restaurant gift cards; pet grooming and veterinary services; home décor items; accessories; celebrity, sports, film, and rock ‘n roll collectibles and memorabilia; and many other exciting items.

So put on your festive attire and dancing shoes and come to the Gala prepared to have fun and thank our heroes. Dance to a live performance by one of Atlanta’s hottest groups, Kingsized, a high-energy, Vegas-style dance band featuring Big Mike Grier and the Dames Aflame. Joining Kingsized is Wesley Cook, one of 4 national finalists in The Rolling Stone Magazine’s “Street to Stage” competition and also recently voted one of Jezebel Magazine’s “Most Eligible Atlantans.” These performers came on board with a commitment to help our heroes.
