Approximately 45 Smyrna residents volunteered their time and energy Sunday afternoon to spread several hundred bales of hay and remove weeds at .
They expected rain and thunderstorms, but instead they had fun, made new friends and got a lot done.
Officially, the project was sponsored by a new organization, SuperSmyrna, but the reality was that turnout was from a wide variety of groups. Those groups included Teasley Elementary School, Keep Smyrna Beautiful, , the Smyrna Golden K Kiwanis Club, Smyrna Business Association, Cobb Chamber of Commerce and the Smyrna Rotary Club.
The ages of those attending ranged from 3 to 70, and those who came were rewarded with Teasley Principal Joanne Roblee’s delicious brownies and other goodies.
This is the third year in a row that Smyrna citizens have done this project at Teasley. SuperSmyrna has several other similar projects lined up for April, May and June. To learn more, please see www.SuperSmyrna.com.
