Jonquil Garden Club, Braves Town Hall This Week in Smyrna-Vinings

Despite the holiday atmosphere, it will still be a busy week in Smyrna-Vinings and Cobb County.

1. Learn how to improvise festive table settings at the Jonquil Garden Club's meeting on Monday, Nov. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Smyrna Public Library. Faith Iskiyan will demonstrate methods of creating seasonal table setting using things you have around the house and the garden.

2. Speak out on the Braves' relocation at Commissioner Bob Ott's town hall meeting on Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the county government offices in Marietta Square

3. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners will vote on the proposed memorandum of understanding between the Atlanta Braves and Cobb County during their Tuesday, Nov. 26 meeting. The meeting will be held on the second floor of 100 Cherokee St. (the site of Ott's town hall) and will begin at 7 p.m.

4. Cobb County Schools are out this weekbut the Cobb County Public Library System wants to make sure the kiddos are still staying active and learning. On Monday, Nov. 25 there are events such as "Minecraft for Homeschoolers" and Family Gaming Day. Check out the Cobb Public Library's website for more details.

5. Thanksgiving trash collection will be altered due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Monday and Tuesday routes are unaffected, but Thursday and Friday routes will be completed on Wednesday. There will be no yard waste collection this week.
