Public Library Story Time, Wine Dinner in Smyrna-Vinings This Week

1. The Smyrna Public Library will hold its "Movers and Shakers" story time for one and two-year-olds on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Story time includes songs, stories, and exercises to help improve motor skills.

2. Old Vinings Inn will hold a wine dinner at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22. Chef Don Diem will be preparing a special dinner to be paired with Fritz Cellars wines. Reservations are required to attend this event, and can be made at http://oldviningsinn.net/fritz-cellars-wine-dinner/.

3. Head back to the Smyrna Public Library for Lapsit story time on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. This story time session is geared towards three to five-year-olds, especially those who have yet to attend school. Each session lasts 30 minutes and includes a story, songs, and a craft activity.

4. Congressman David Scott will hold a "Coffee and Conversation" event on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Threadmill Complex in Austell. The event is sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association, and will revolve around Scott's thoughts on current Alzheimer's legislation and hearing how the disease has affected your family.

5. REV Coffee Shop will host the "Yarn Hook and Tea" Crochet for Cancer event on Aug. 24 at 4:00 p.m. Over the course of the next eight months, crocheters will make large scarves to donate to cancer patients.
