Smyrna Golf Classic; Career Expo in Smyrna-Vinings This Week

1. Learn some local history at the Vinings Village Civic Club meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Vinings United Methodist Church. The guest speaker for the event is Roberta Cook, Founder and Coordinator of The River Line Historic Area.

2. Find your new job at the Marietta/Cobb Career Expo at the Cobb County Civic Center on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please dress for an interview and bring plenty of copies of your resume! Here are some of the great companies that will be in attendance.

3. Get teed off at the 6th Annual Smyrna Golf Classic at the Dogwood Golf Club in Austell on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 8:30 a.m. The format is a four-man scramble. Registration is $100 per player or $400 per team. You could win a car from Wade Ford if you get a hole in one! Learn more about the event here.

4. Stock up on kids stuff at Smyrna First United Methodist Church's KinderMart on Friday, Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m. You will be able to buy practically anything your baby or young child needs for anything from diapers to Halloween costumes. The toys even come with batteries included!

5. Come hungry to the Taste of Smyrna on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Smyrna Village Green. Admission is free, and there will be plenty of live music to accompany some of the best food you can get in Smyrna. The kids will be treated to a 33-foot shark slide, a rock wall, and tons of other fun stuff!
