Spanish Story Time, Civil War Lecture in Smyrna This Week

There is never a shortage of events to participate in around the Cobb County area.

1. Spanish Story Time will be held at the Smyrna Public Library on Monday, Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. Bring the whole family out to enjoy hearing a story read in another language. Who knows, maybe your child will be inspired to learn a second language!

2. The Genealogical Society of Cobb County 
will be at First Presbyterian Church in Marietta on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. Speaker Joe Kirby will talk about how Marietta has changed and evolved over the decades and centuries.

3. A Civil War Lecture Entitled "Francis Shoup and the Chattahoochee River Line" will be presented at the Smyrna Community Center on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. Michael K. Shaffer will be discussing an overlooked local aspect of the Atlanta Campaign.

4. Muslims For Life, a blood drive held by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to honor the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, will be held at Atlanta Blood Services on Cobb Parkway in Marietta on Wednesday, Aug. 28 starting at 9 a.m. The group preaches a message of, "Love for All, Hatred for None." 

5. Check out the latest Artist's Corral at 2 Rules Fine Art on Friday, Aug. 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be live music, refreshments, and patrons will be given the opportunity to vote on their favorite works of art.
