Veterans Day Ceremonies, Fall Crafts Event in Smyrna-Vinings This Week

1. Honor our veterans at the Smyrna Village Green at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. Organizations including the Smyrna Veterans Committee, American Legion Post 160, and the Twentieth Century Veterans Memorial Association will be on hand to recognize the sacrifices made by Smyrna's veterans in the last 100 years. Guest speakers will include Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Thomas A. Wessels and a past commander of the Georgia American Legion Bill Lienhop.

2. Veterans can complete their wills for free between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 at GeorgiaFamilyLaw/Worrall Law LLC in Marietta. Active duty soldiers, veterans, and public safety officers can stop by and codify their final wishes at absolutely no cost. A simple will normally costs $500.

3. Spend some time making some festive fall crafts at the Chick-fil-A on South Cobb Drive starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The Chick-fil-A is teaming up with Alive Ministries to stock up the food closets in our local schools; persons who bring five canned goods or non-perishable items will receive a coupon for a free Ice Dream cone.

4. Mingle with fellow stay-at-home moms at Small Cakes in Smyrna on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Moms Offering Moms Support (MOMS) is hosting an open house that will feature mini-cupcakes and crafts for the kiddos. Please RSVP for the open house by e-mailing momsclubsvw@gmail.com.

5. Learn the secrets of sales at Brawner Hall on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3:30 p.m. during the "Sales is not Selling" workshop, co-sponsored by the City of Smyrna and ActionCOACH Atlanta at Brawner Hall. Register for this free workshop by Nov. 12 to attend.
