Coming Up: Home Show, Restaurant Week

Want to get ahead on planning your weekend? Here's a look at just some of the activities in the area.

1. Fall Atlanta Home Show. The 30th annual Fall Atlanta Home Show at the Cobb Galleria  takes place Friday-Sunday, Oct. 4-6, with hundreds of exhibitors, speakers, product demonstrations, giveaways, food trucks and home and landscape experts. HGTV’s Chip Wade, star of Elbow Room, will speak Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.  Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at www.AtlantaHomeShow.com or at the door.

2. Vinings Restaurant Week. Vinings Jubilee presents the second annual restaurant week Oct. 5-13. The lifestyle center will spotlight neighborhood restaurants and cuisine, featuring three options of fixed-price menus. 3. Yard/garage sales. The West Brookpark Community Garage Sale will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5,  in the Westbrook Park subdivision off of North Cooper Lake. Also at 8 a.m. Saturday, Vinings First Baptist Church will hold a garage sales for its AWANA children's program.

4. Fall Adopt-a-Thon. Cobb County Animal Control's Fall Adopt-a-Thon will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on the grounds at 1060 Al Bishop Drive in Marietta, right next to the Cobb County Safety Village and Jim Miller Park.
