Part of Atlanta Road Closed for Village to Village 11k Race Saturday
A part of southbound Atlanta road will be shut down Saturday morning for runners.
The Village to Village 11k Road Race will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 along a 3.6 mile portion of Atlanta Road.
Runners will head off from the Smyrna Village Green and proceed down Atlanta Road to the West Village, then turn around and come back towards downtown Smyrna.
Owing to the nature of the race, one southbound lane of Atlanta Road will be shut down starting at 6:45 a.m. to allow the participants to run in safety.
According to the city of Smyrna's Facebook page, traffic on Atlanta Road heading south between roughly 7 and 9 a.m. will be constricted to using only the inside lane.
Smyrna Police Department personnel will be along the route ensuring a safe flow of traffic for motorists and runners alike.
