Emory-Adventist Offering Thyroid Screenings

The hospital will perform a blood draw to check the levels of a specific hormone in the body.

A Smyrna-area hospital is offering blood tests later this week which will look for thyroid problems.

Emory-Adventist Hospital is holding a TSH screening on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. The test will cost $15 and is held in the hospital cafeteria.

TSH, or Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone, causes the thyroid to release hormones that regulate the body's metabolism. Problems with TSH levels can cause symptoms ranging from fatigue to a rapid heart rate.
