Founded in 1955, Brown Elementary School has taught generations of Smyrna families for more than 50 years and many of the school's teachers and staff have been with the school for more than 15 years. Several of the school's current students come from families of longtime Smyrna residents which has helped give Brown the distinction of being a "Title One Distinguished School." Led by Principal Brett Ward, Brown's mission is to create an atmosphere where children are empowered to learn and are willing to take risks to achieve their potential.
