Cleanup Day the Smyrna Way

Over rain and gloom this week? Get out in the Saturday sunshine with a pair of local volunteer cleanup efforts.

The weather has been dreary these past few days, but Saturday is shaping up to be in the sunny 70s for the It’s My Park Day and Adopt-A-Mile cleanup events. Citizens are invited to clean, prune and paint in their neighborhood parks from 9 a.m. to noon as part of It’s My Park Day. Volunteers should bring gloves and garden tools. Participating parks are Lake Court Park, North Cooper Lake Park, Tolleson Park, Riverline Park, Cobb Park and Kidscape Village. Types of work projects will include pruning brush, raking mulch in playgrounds, cleaning play equipment, trail repair, and litter control. Work projects will be assigned based on experience and interest level. For more information on the volunteer opportunities associated with It’s My Park …
