Are Smyrna's Geese Nice or a Nuisance?
According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Canada geese just like it here.
Are geese the new urban scourge? Some folks thinks so. told WSB that she's tired of them "leaving presents" in her yard and wishes someone would do something about it. Smyrna has its fair share of geese as well. They can often be seen padding around the pond behind the Smyrna Community Center or flying overhead. WSB reported that the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that there's been a Canada geese population explosion in metro Atlanta over the past few years for no other reason than they really like it here. Many individuals in our culture are very disconnected from the world around them, including wildlife. Geese are a regular reminder to us that we are part of a larger world, that we are only one among many species here, and that the natural world is lovely and at times bothersome.
