It's time for Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday again! The event is held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Taylor-Brawner Park, organized by the City of Smyrna in partnership with Georgia Power and Cobb Travel & Tourism. Here is a lineup of the food trucks serving dinner tonight: Public parking is available adjacent to the playground and mini ampitheatre, and also at Community Bank of the South, Covenant Christian School and Smyrna Presbyterian Church. Parking is limited, so walking or biking is encouraged. Smyrna Food Truck Tuesdays are recycling friendly. Look for recycling containers and help keep the park clean. The food trucks participating will change from week to week. Check back with Smyrna-Vinings Patch to see who will be at next week's event.

An online survey is available for Smyrna residents to provide feedback on a new Parks and Recreation master plan.
Today is the last day residents to provide feedback on the City of Smyrna Parks and Recreation master plan through an online survey. City officials say the master plan is critical to the city's development, and will help them set priorities for parks and recreation facilities for the next 10 years. The Smyrna Parks and Recreation Department is implementing the planning process with the help of professional consultants from GreenRock Partners. The survey is designed to help city officials find out what park and recreation needs are desired by the citizens of Smyrna. Click here to take the online survey today.

The City of Smyrna is bringing back the much-anticipated event for the spring.
The wait is over. Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday is set to return for the spring on Tuesday, May 7, according to the City of Smyrna. The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Taylor-Brawner Park. A lineup of food trucks will be announced later today on the city's Facebook page, said City of Smyrna spokesperson Jennifer Bennett. Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday concluded a successful first season last fall, attracting thousands of attendees from around Smyrna-Vinings and surrounding neighborhoods.

Looking for fun activities for the whole family or simply in a festive mood? Don't miss the 2013 Spring Jonquil Festival this Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28, in the Village Green in downtown Smyrna. The Spring Jonquil Festival has been a tradition in the community for 24 years. The 2013 Jonquil City Jog 5K will be held this weekend in downtown Smyrna.
Lace up your shoes and get ready for the 2013 Jonquil City Jog 5K in downtown Smyrna this weekend. At the annual Peachtree Qualifier race this Saturday, April 27, you will get to run or walk for fun, prizes, and to support local schools. On-site registration will take place 7 a.m. at the Smyrna City Hall located at 2800 King Street, followed by the race at 8 a.m. To participate, you can click here to register now at Active.com through 6 p.m. this Thursday, April 25, or register in person at the Smyrna Community Center by noon on Friday, April 26. We got there at 7:30 last Tuesday, only to discover that most of the trucks were running low or out of their menu items. That was rather surprising, given that they should've known about the popularity after last year.
