Cowlicks in Vinings is helping to advance community outreach and awareness regarding breast cancer.

All float sales through Oct. 31 benefit Young Survival Coalition Atlanta, an organization serving 11 counties in the Metro Atlanta area, with a mission to ensure no young woman faces breast cancer alone. In the latest installment of Cowlick’s clever Famous Floats series, Cindy Simmons of Star 94’s morning show is the berry-crazed mastermind behind the latest mouthwatering concoction. About 50 people attended VBA's June luncheon at Social Vinings on Tuesday.
New faces abounded at the Vinings Business Association’s monthly lunch meeting Tuesday. About 30 of the 50 attendees were guests or newcomers to the VBA’s meeting at Social Vinings. “The organization’s been very active since 2008, so all guests are invited,” said Glenn Christian, VBA president. “There are no industry restrictions in the Vinings Business Association. You can come as a guest and then when you see the activities that we’re involved in you have the opportunity to become a member and grow your business.” Of the 20 members in attendance, about 15 took the floor during the speaking portion of the meeting to share information about their business.
