A Smyrna man has been indicted on murder charges in connection with the December 2012 death of his wife. A Cobb County indictment handed down April 4 alleges that on Dec. 5, 31-year-old Derrick McLaurence Williams used his hands to choke 33-year-old Finesse Dawson at a home on Old Springs Road. After allegedly beating and strangling Dawson to death, Williams cleaned up his wife's body and wrapped her in bedding to hide the crime before fleeing the scene, investigators told Patch at the time. Williams was arrested Dec. 11 in Washoe County, Nev., and extradited back to Cobb. Derrick Williams was arrested overnight near Reno, Nevada, said Smyrna police spokesman Michael Smith. Authorities said they do not have more details about his arrest at this time. Dam ! I use to work with this guy in the past and from what I knew about him I knew it was only a matter of time before he was either dead or in prison. He told me in the past that he was a street guy and he was going to die in the streets or kill in the streets. Its sad that the girl had to die to set herself free from that guy !   more ›
