Not everyone knows that local funnyman of many talents Tyler Perry has added playwright and director to his roster of accomplishments. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre will be rolling out Perry’s brand-spanking-new musical “Aunt Bam’s Place” beginning tonight. Starring Cassi Davis as the outrageously comical character Aunt Bam, this is a rollicking tale of family drama with the generous helping of hilarity one expects from the creator of the zany character Madea. Involving a nephew’s dilemmas juggling his nervous wife, visiting children, and drunken ex-wife, only Aunt Bam can sort out the raucous mess.
