Smyrna Public Library Steps Into the Future with eBooks

Library patrons can check out up to five eBooks at a time.

Smyrna Public Library now offers eBooks. The collection currently has 327 titles including children’s books, adult best sellers and adult classics. Library Director Michael Seigler announced the launch of Smyrna’s eBooks program at a recent Smyrna City Council meeting. Friends of the Smyrna Library funded the project. “They paid for it all,” he said. “Not one cent of taxpayer money went into this initial set up. The Friends are one of the greatest assets the library’s got.” The eBooks can be checked out on desktops, laptops, Android-based phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads, iPod Touch and Kindle Fire eReaders. Earlier versions of Kindle e-readers are not compatible because they cannot download the reader app. Those interested in checking …

I was told it does Kindle but only Kindle Fire. I have the Kindle version before that. But depair not. Cobb Co.
