Patch 101: Posting Calendar Events

Do you have a community event coming up? Post it to Smyrna-Vinings Patch in seconds.

Welcome to Patch 101, our primer to help users learn how to get the most out of Patch. Unlike many news websites, Patch invites its readers to contribute in more ways than just commenting. Were you at the scene of one of our reports? Add some pictures to our story. Want to talk about something that's not in the news? Start a blog. One of the questions we hear most is a request to add an event to our calendar. But you don’t need to wait for us—you can do it yourself in seconds. Here’s how: 1. Make sure you’re signed in under your Patch account. 2. Click on the Smyrna-Vinings Patch Event Calendar and click on “add an event” 3. Halloween Events Aplenty Today in Cobb

Residents can choose between the 13th annual Fall Festival of Fun, trunk or treats, the Rocky Horror Show, and more.

Where: Cobb Safety Village, 1220 Al Bishop Drive SW, Marietta When: 4-7 p.m. What: This event will provide the children of Cobb County a safe alternative to the traditional Trick-or-Treat. The festival will include arts and crafts, games, inflatable rides, police and fire activities, costume and coloring contests, a photo booth and other surprises. Parking, entrance to the park, games, candy and contests are free (there is a fee for concessions and inflatable rides). Come wearing your Halloween costume and be sure to bring a bag to carry all of your candy.
