Check out the latest updates on road constructions, delays and detours around Smyrna-Vinings and Cobb County from May 13 to 17.

Here are the latest updates on road work being done around Smyrna-Vinings and Cobb County, according to the Cobb Department of Transportation. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from Laurel Springs Way to South Cobb Drive. One lane will remain open at all times. The contractor will be installing construction signs, erosion control and begin clearing, excavation and grading. Utility relocation should not affect your service. South Cobb Drive to Atlanta Road: Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with one lane remaining open in each direction at all times.  Evelyn Street: The intersection with Concord Road will be permanently closed as work starts. Here are the latest updates on road work being done around Smyrna-Vinings and Cobb County, according to the City of Smyrna and Cobb Department of Transportation. South Cobb Drive to Atlanta Road: Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with one lane remaining open in each direction at all times.  Evelyn Street: The intersection with Concord Road will be permanently closed when the contractor begins work this Monday, May 6. Here are the latest updates on road work being done around Smyrna-Vinings and Cobb County, according to the Cobb Department of Transportation. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday on Paper Mill Road at Sope Creek. One lane will remain open for your commute during the initial utility work. Starting in May, Cobb DOT will start replacing the bridge over Sope Creek on Paper Mill Road. The new bridge will include a six-foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to the National Park Service trails. Paper Mill Road will be closed at the bridge for approximately four months. If so, Planet Fitness is pretty nice and affordable. It may negatively impact World's Gym and LA Fitness but so be it. It could possibly cause a GNC or a Vitamin Shoppe to move into that mall. I know there is a GNC off south cobb/e-w connector. Maybe VS could compete a bit better.   more ›
