Cobb Nonprofit Helps Disabled Adults

District 4 Commissioner Lisa Cupid attended the opening ceremony at Sweetwater House in Austell.

Right in the Community, a Cobb-based nonprofit, opened a new location in South Cobb to help adults and children with developmental disabilities. An opening ceremony was held last week at the newly-completed Sweetwater House located on North Avenue in Austell. Cobb District 4 Commissioner Lisa Cupid spoke at the event and attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. The Sweetwater House is funded by HUD's Section 811 Housing Program. It will service four individuals, and is the 24th house opened by Right in the Community to serve as affordable, accessible housing for adults with developmental disabilities. Right in the Community was founded in 1956. Its services include referral sources, advocacy, respite and residential homes, and summer camps. …

Free Help for Homeowners at Cobb Galleria Centre

Don't miss Friday's Help for Homeowners event to meet in-person with mortgage experts and HUD-approved housing counselors for assistance at no cost.

Congressman David Scott (GA-13), in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Treasury and Housing and Urban Development (HUD), announced the Making Home Affordable “Help for Homeowners Event” at the Cobb Galleria Centre 1-8 p.m. this Friday.  Homeowners who are struggling to make mortgage payments or refinance should attend to meet in-person with mortgage servicers and HUD-approved housing counselors for assistance at no cost. With Georgia currently ranked fifth in the nation for foreclosures, Congressman Scott is teaming up with the Obama Administration for the third consecutive year to organize Help for Homeowners Events in Atlanta and strengthen the area housing market by helping more struggling homeowners prevent avoidable foreclosures…
