Get Out Weekend Planner

Here's a roundup of activities in and around Smyrna-Vinings including a festival, chances to get active and give back.

Have Fun The Spring Jonquil Festival is this Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 19. The festival gets underway Saturday at 10 a.m. More than 150 arts and crafts vendors participate in the festival annually. This year’s entertainment includes a puppet show by Peter Hart and a musical performance by Scott Thompson, one of the founding members of Peachtree Station. Kids can play in an array of inflatables, see a fire truck up close and create sand art. The festival begins Sunday at noon and admission is free both days. Atkins Park Tavern holds its 10th annual Crawfish Boil Saturday and Sunday beginning each day at 1 p.m. The chef at Atkins will prepare fresh crawfish and there’s even a rumor that Oysterfest was such a hit that they’ve shipped …

Argyle's annual Walk-a-Mile event is coming up on Saturday, April 28th, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Come out for a morning of family fun! Walkers will meet at Argyle Elementary and walk along the Spring Road bike trail. There is no cost to walk, but donations of old sneakers and cell phones are encouraged. The Week Ahead in Smyrna-Vinings

Here's a look at what's in store for the week of April 23 including a neighborhood association meeting, a festival and an opportunity to serve the community.

Good morning, Smyrna-Vinings! After a beautiful weekend let’s take a look at the week ahead. Local Government News: Smyrna City Council meets Monday at 5:30 p.m. for a Committee of the Whole meeting at City Hall in the conference room. The meeting is open to the public. Because there are five Mondays in April this year Council will not meet again till its regular meeting Monday, May 7. Council Representative Teri Anulewicz will hold a Fifth Monday meeting for Ward 3 residents at the Smyrna Public Library in the conference room from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m Monday, April 30. State Sen. Doug Stoner will be speaking twice in Smyrna-Vinings on Tuesday first at the Smyrna Rotary Club at 12:15 p.m. at Brawner Hall and then again at the annual Vinings …

Smyrna's Fall Jonquil Festival is halfway done, but another fun day is on tap for Sunday. And no matter when you go, Smyrna-Vinings Patch wants to see your good times pictures.

Saturday’s weather for Smyrna’s 23rd Annual Fall Jonquil Festival was picture perfect with pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunshine. And the good news as that tomorrow’s forecast is calling for more of the same as the festival continues from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
